WELCOME TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN HALIBUT FISHING

The World Championship in Halibut Fishing is not only a fishing competition. Our goal is to contribute to everyone having a good time in Havøysund during the days of the festival. Below you can see what’s happening in the championship and on the festival grounds day by day.

 

THURSDAY AUGUST 1st:

20.00  Captains' Meeting at Havets Hus

21.00  Mingling in the bar

FRIDAY AUGUST 2nd:

​

06.00   Captains' meeting at Havøysund Hotel (starting chips are distributed)

07.20   Contest starts

​

18.00   End of championship day one

​

19.00   Starting chips and documentation must be handed in. All results for day one will be      invalidated if the deadline is not met

20.00   Festival area at Havøysund Hotel opens

​

22.00   Announcement of the teams that have qualified for The World Championship in            Halibut Fishing 2024 and Halibut Fest 2024

​

SATURDAY AUGUST 3rd:

​

06.00   Captains' meeting at Havøysund Hotel (starting chips are distributed)

​

07.00   Contest starts, World Championship in Halibut Fishing 2024 and Halibut Fest 2024

​

11.00   Fishing competition for children, sign up for free at Kroa

​

15.00   Award ceremony for the children's fishing competition at Kroa

​

17.00   End of championship day two

​

18.00   Chips and documentation must be handed in

​

19.30   Festival area at Polarhallen opens for contestants, sponsors and others with a pre          booked ticket

​

20.30   Buffét from Villmarkskokken. Tickets are sold here. Ticket fee is 550 NOK. 

All contestants have a ticket to the buffét included in the competition fee. ​

​

21.30   Festival area at Polarhallen is open for all, age limit 18 years old.

Entrance fee NOK 250,-

22.00   Award ceremony

​

23.00   Live band 

​

03.00   Festival area closes
